How I can help

Depression and low mood

Low mood can affect energy, motivation, confidence and the ability to enjoy things that once mattered. CBT offers a practical, compassionate way to understand what may be keeping you stuck and begin rebuilding momentum.

What this can look like

Presentations can differ from person to person.

You do not need to identify with every example or have a formal diagnosis to begin a conversation.

How CBT may help

Understanding the pattern and finding a different way forward

Understand the low-mood cycle

Explore how withdrawal, reduced activity and negative thinking can reinforce one another.

Rebuild meaningful activity

Use behavioural activation to plan small actions that support routine, pleasure or achievement.

Respond to self-criticism

Notice unhelpful thinking patterns and develop kinder, more balanced responses.

Strengthen helpful routines

Work on manageable changes to sleep, connection, problem-solving and self-care.

What sessions might involve

Collaborative, practical and paced around you

We may monitor mood and activity, identify patterns, agree small weekly goals and test whether doing things differently changes how you feel. Progress is built through realistic steps rather than expecting you to simply think positively.

If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please seek urgent support rather than waiting for a routine therapy appointment.
